The [http://code.google.com/soc/ Google Summer of Code] is back again in 2007, and this time we mean to catch the train and get some new blood flowing into Voyager, by means of student summer projects sponsored by SoC. For this to happen, we must have interesting [[SoC Ideas]] that a student could implement, ideally, in 3-months time.
The Google SoC begins accepting mentoring applications on March 5, ending on March 12. To apply, we should have the following list of questions in a nice format to apply to Google, as well as several ideas for students to make proposals for.
From the [http://code.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=60303&topic=10727 SoC FAQ]:

In addition to anything else your organization would like to submit as an application, Google will be ask at least the following questions as part of the application process:

# Describe your organization.
##
# Why is your organization applying to participate in GSoC 2007? What do you hope to gain by participating?
##
# Did your organization participate in GSoC 2005 or 2006? If so, please summarize your involvement and the successes and failures of your student projects.
## No.
# If your organization has not previously participated in GSoC, have you applied in the past? If so, for what year(s)?
## We have never applied to participate in GSoC.
# Who will your organization administrator be? Please include Google Account information.
##
# What license does your project use?
##
# What is the URL for your ideas page?
# What is the main development mailing list for your organization?
##
# What is the main IRC channel for your organization?
## irc.netlabs.org #netlabs (?)
# Does your organization have an application template you would like to see students use? If so, please provide it now.
##
# Who will be your backup organization administrator? Please include Google Account information.
##
# Who will your mentors be? Please include Google Account Information.
